Allow Location Access to Google Only When Using the App

Here is how you allow the Google app to access your device’s location when you use it and not all the time. By default, the Google app is the system app that has full-time access to the device location.

1. Open the Android settings.
2. Then tap on Apps & Notifications.
3. Tap on See All Apps.
4. Navigate to Google and tap on it.
   
5. Then tap on Permissions.
6. Tap on Location.
7. Now change the access to Allow Only While Using the App.
   
8. Confirm by tapping on Don’t Allow Anyway.

6. Now open the Play Store app.
7. Download the Google app.

9. De-select the option Enable auto-update.
